Reese!!

So lots of stuff has happened in the past week with Reese & Lily. Today Reese turned over, back to front (and also front to back says dad, but I didn't see that one) and is determined to schuffle her way around the mat. She looks like a turtle in the sand. Lily has been watching Reese closely and is getting there as far as this rolling over thing goes. We also introduced rice cereal (aka num nums) to the babies Sunday night. I figured if it bombed we still had time since they will be 19 weeks tomorrow. Lets just say Reese turned into Jaws, like the shark, when the spoon got near her lips. And she started to cry when she saw Lily getting some of the cereal. Lily is warming up to it, less spitting it out last night which is good. Today they were trying to convince me to give them part of my eggplant parmegian.
I posted some shots from our past two days and the weekend outside. They had so much fun.

Almost Time for Num-Nums

So Rich and I have come to the conclusion that it is about time to try some rice cereal with the ladies, they are 4 1/2 months old and very interested in food. Not sure how pshyched they will be with some boring old unflavored rice cereal but it has to be better than formula, right? I am thinking we will give it a try tomorrow night, pics of course to follow.
In other news, Reese and Lily have become preoccupied with trying to roll over. Its pretty funny. And luckily tiring apparently. Lily will try for an hour or so sticking her legs up in the air, then flop over to the side. Reese will push herself off of the floor and get sideways but not over yet. I am thinking maybe by the end of this or next week it is going to happen. They also have decided to like puppers in the picture above. I am sure he can't wait for them to run around and play with him, well that and also for them to start eating real food so he can eat all the pieces that make it to his domain, ie, the floor.
If it stays this nice tomorrow, we are definately getting the ladies out of the house and stolled around Milltown. I hear that tires kids out. (Are you seeing a theme here with tiring kids out??). I am not sure how far we will get without being stopped and asked a hundred questions about them. Multiple people stopped today to look at them when they walked past our house and saw us on the front porch with them. We may only make it block with 2 stollers, or 1 stroller and the bijorn.

work, teeth, & easter

Reeses new favorite thing to do, being lifted over your head. She just screams.
Lily and Reese ~ notice the tylenol on Lily's onesie. Hee hee.

So I went back to work last Wednesday and things seem to be fine with the ladies, although Rich is adjusting to being home with them all day and getting nothing done! For those of you that have helped us thank you, and you can atest to the fact that there is no downtime, at least most of the time. They have recently realized that they have hands, and are trying to grab toys and each other. Ha.

Toofers!

After days of speculation by Rich and myself, it is pretty official that the ladies are getting a toothe each. There has been lotsa drool and crankiness over the past 4-5 days which we both attributed to thier 4 month shots, but tonight I ventured into thier little mouths and felt little toothers. The thing is that they aren't in the places they tell you the first teeth come in, nope, BOTH of them have fangs coming in, you know, incisors I think they are called. Kinda freaky that they both have the same a-typical tooth coming in, as far as we can tell. Definately Cunningham's. Atypical.
Today was also my first day back at work. It was actually a great day. It was really good to be back at work, and also to put my baby pics up at my new desk. The dietititians office is usually a remodeled coat closet, where 5 RD's squeeze into, but on my leave my boss got us 3 offices, and we each have our own desk. Its a big deal, believe me.

How funny is this picture of Lily.

Reese Smiles!

So as of Wednesday the little ladies will be 16 weeks old. That also happens to be the day I go back to work. I have been out of work for 6 months, which is nuts! I am half looking forward to going back and also half going to miss being with the babies all day, even if I don't get a shower until 5pm somedays, and also miss lunch. In other happenings, the ladies have been hitting the town and got to visit with Aunt Joanie and Aunt Reenie (who was already trying to brainwashing them into saying "Aunt Reenie!!), and also got to spend some time with Riley where they got to find some new toys and other fun stuff we didn't have, but are working on...tomorrow Lily is coming with me to visit a friend ~ I only bring one at a time when I go out alone, so Reese came last time. Oh, and they also got to visit the Easter Bunny last week. All of the other mom's were so envious of the non-freaking kids, but I had to explain they had no idea what they were doing. For Santa, I am sure I wil have 2 screaming kiddies, or maybe they won't be scared since they have each other. Power in numbers.
