I tried and tried with the videos but no luck. A very cute video with head nodding sort of to yes. Next time I promise. In other news, I quit the new job today to go back to the old one. Long story, kinda boring, but I LOVED my old job, was able to pick the babes from daycare and spend dinner with them, ect. New job was not letting me do that. Not worth it. So back to old job. Funny how these things, even if they are not the way you wanted them to work out, seem to work out. My last day at the new job is Friday, and my old boss offered me starting with a couple days after the week of Rich's surgery if I wanted, or I could just start the week of March 31st. Perfect. Now I can be off next week, deal with all of that, and not be rushing home to spend time with the girls. Rich's surgery is next Tuesday, and will be open (ie- not laproscopic, which would have been shorter recovery time, ect) just because the surgeon wants to make sure he is seeing everything the best he can, which cannot be done as well with a lap. So that means he will be in Pittsburgh probably 2 solid weeks, 10 days in the hospital, 4 days staying locally to make sure he is ok and then home. He will have an ileostomy (again googlers) for about 6-8 weeks which is reversable, so back out to Pittsburgh at some point. And he will need chemo 2-3 months (from what I understand) after the surgery to really blast it. His surgeon is also pioneering some new research with cancer vaccines, that Rich has chosen to be part of too. It is based on the premise that your own body can fight cancer cells with the right antibodies, so they make a personalized vaccine based on the cancer cells they get from your body during surgery. Amazing. We are so lucky.
So me and the girls and some of our best g-friends forever will have some slumber parties and watch john hughes movies and eat cookie dough and of course throw some Rick concerts in and we will get by. I am actually pretty excited about having some time off over the next two weeks to be here for Reese and Lily as much as they are here for me always.
Oh and what about Chava. He is going to join the Goosebusters. There is this godsend of a woman, who has 5 cattledogs of her own (can you f-ing imagine??) and they go from golf course to golf course to goosebust. Goose poop on a golf course is yucky. Rich took Chava to meet her and the rest of the Goosebusters (I am not kidding, like Ghostbusters) Sunday and he did great. And since she is a cattledog lover she gets him and all of his cattledog stuff. Chewing, barking, jumping ect. Chava will be working from 8am until 5pm everyday and I am sure will come back looking buff and happy so we are happy for him.
